چکیده
The Wole Woe plant is one of the plants that empirically used as traditional medicine by Weda community in Central Halmahera Regency. stem part to treat various diseases. This study aims determine toxicity logs using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. research was started extracting ethanol 70% solvent with reflux method and then carried out phytochemical screening which showed contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, tannins compounds. Toxicity testing wood extract against Artemia salina Leach larvae divided into 5 test groups, namely 4 treatment groups (concentrations 250 ppm, 500 750 1000 ppm) 1 control or comparison group (sea water). Each concentration made 3 vials containing 10 Leach. Observations were looking at mortality after 24 hours treatment. results can be seen through probit analysis calculating LC 50 value. 453.942 ± 59.564 g/mL. indicated ethanolic had a toxic effect on because value was< ppm

Lethality Assay of Radiopharmaceutical bis-Thiosemicarbazones Using Brine Shrimp (Artemia salina) Test
In the present study, aqueous solutions of some copper-complexing ligands were screened for their cytotoxicity using brine shrimp lethality test. Among the ligands tested, diacetyl-bis(N4-methylthiosemicarbazones) (ATSM) proved to be the most safe and non-toxic compound (2% lethality at 10 ppm), while pyruvaldehyde Bis(N4-methyl)thiosemicarbazone (P...
متن کاملA gynandromorph of the brine shrimp, Artemia salina.
S EXUAL mosaics have been reported in three genera of Crustacea. A bilateral mosaic of Carcinus was found to have a testis on one side and a mixed gonad on the other (VEILLET 1945). Gynandromorphs with a testis and ovary have been reported in Homarus (see review by CHACE and MOORE 1959) and in the cladoceran, Simocephalus (BANTA, WOOD, BROWN and INGLE 1939). No intersex or mosaic of Artemia has...

متن کاملToxicity of benthic dinoflagellates on grazing, behavior and survival of the brine shrimp Artemia salina
Harmful algae may differently affect their primary grazers, causing sub-lethal effects and/or leading to their death. The present study aim to compare the effects of three toxic benthic dinoflagellates on clearance and grazing rates, behavioral changes, and survival of Artemia salina. Feeding assays consisted in 1-h incubations of brine shrimps with the toxic Prorocentrum lima, Gambierdiscus ex...
متن کاملBiological Screening of Medicinal Plants Collected from Eastern Ghats of India Using Artemia salina (Brine Shrimp Test)
Medicinal plants constitute important components of flora and are widely distributed in different regions of India. Based on ethnomedical significance, we have collected several medicinal plants used in traditional medicine from Eastern Ghats of India and evaluated for their biological activity. In the present study, a method utilizing brine shrimp (Artemia salina Leach) lethality was used to s...
